How We Publish

The same commitments apply to everything published under the Scyentist name.

Independent reviewResearch articles are assessed by at least two independent reviewers, with the identities of authors and reviewers concealed from each other.
Open accessEverything we publish is free to read and reuse under CC BY 4.0, and authors keep copyright.
A permanent recordJournal articles carry a Crossref DOI and proceedings volumes an ISBN, and both are archived for the long term.
Published ethicsOur policies follow COPE guidance and are published in full.

Journal Partner Programme

A new journal takes years to become established. Through the Journal Partner Programme, a researcher shapes a new Scyentist journal in their own field and builds its early publication record, bringing work from their laboratory, their network and the conferences they organise.

Scyentist owns the journal, appoints the editorial board and takes every editorial decision. The partner's role is one of scope and outreach, never of editorial authority.

Proposals for a new journal are welcome from individual researchers and from research communities alike.

About the programme

Who it suits

Established researchers with an active network and a strong publication record.

Research groups producing work steadily in a defined field.

Conference and symposium organisers with a returning community.

Anyone who wants to be the founding partner of a journal in their field.
